Again I feel the need to explain the presence of the posts on the U.S. presidents. If you've just stumbled onto this blog and have seen those entries, you've probably had a couple of questions, not the least of which would be, "For God's sake, why the posts?" The second would be, "Why are they all out of order?"
I started doodling with caricatures of the best-known Commanders-in-Chief, and got the notion that I would do the whole bunch (some I'm happier with than others) and post to a now-defunct Instagram account, spacing them out through the year as their birthdays came up. To accompany those Instagram entries, I directed people to this blog for thoughts and trivia on each man.
Unfortunately, I fell woefully behind, mainly because I grew weary of coming up with things to say about each of the folks. Here we are well past the halfway mark of the year following that project, and, while I completed the drawings for Instagram in 2021, as of of today I still have six presidents about whom to drop a few lines.
Yeah, I could just shine it on, but I feel compelled to complete the project. Stay tuned, those of you who have actually read this post to this point, as I really want to put this assignment-to-self to bed... and out of its misery.
